This article is about making homebrew software and running it on the DS. It will give you an overview of how to run homebrew, and how to make it. This article will continue to grow like I will continue to explore the possibilities of homebrew software on the Nintendo DS. For now it covers the subject of running homebrew software on your DS using a supercard. I also added some information to get DSlinux and Beup running.

My major Project this term was to design and build a device that would intercept a servo signal from a Futaba Radio Controller, decipher it and convert it into a binary logic when the pulse widths reached a certain length. The device is required to control our robot for the Skills Canada competition. This is be done by connecting the output of the Futaba receiver to a PIC Microcontroller and using a small script known as the PULSIN command. The command measures the pulse width of the signal and stores it to a variable where it can then be compared to user set constants. Once the pulse width is matched to a constant and the resulted command executed a pin on an output port would be pulled high to drive a power transistor. The transistor can be used to drive small devices either on or off, or by combining 2 outputs driving relays are capable of switching a motor between forward and reverse.

Thomas Scarborough was interviewed by Dean Huster, a former columnist of Poptronics magazine in the USA, interviewed.
Thomas Scarborough was until recently the world's most widely published electronics "journo". His designs have featured on the covers of Everyday Practical Electronics, Elektor, Nuts & Volts, Popular Mechanics, Servo, and Silicon Chip magazines.
